98%... pretty close to 100%, right?

That should be enough to get you to your goals... or not.

What many people don't know is that being 100% committed to your goals is easier than being 98% committed.

Here's why...

Let's take the goal of losing weight, for example.

Scenario 1: You've committed to eating healthier over the course of the next few months as best you can. You also decide to join a gym and go when you have time.

Now, compare that to...

Scenario 2: Your goal is still to lose weight, but you've given yourself the more specific goal of losing 10 pounds in the next 30 days. You decide to follow an eating plan that includes the meals laid out for you and outlines all the exact food on the plan. You also decide to join a gym and schedule to go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday immediately after work.

Which scenario do you think will elicit the best results?

Scenario 2, right?

But why?

The first scenario was not "bad" in any way, but it was kind of wishy washy. It required you to make too many decisions like...

"Is this food healthy or not?"
"Should I be eating this much, or should I only eat half?"
"Is today a good day for the gym? Maybe I'll just go tomorrow."

When you leave too much opportunity for indecision, you are more likely to NOT make the right choice to get you to your goal. That's not a knock on you, that's just human nature and we all do it to some extent.

But, now, let's look at scenario 2. There really is no room for questions or debates...

It's either on your meal plan, or it's not.
It's either an acceptable food on your eating plan, or it's not.
It's either a day to go to the gym, or it's not.

Now, I'm not suggesting you turn into a robot and make your entire life this regimented, but when you have a big goal you want to accomplish, it is much easier and more guaranteed that you'll succeed if you're 100% committed instead of anything less than that.

Again, it is great to be flexible, but with goals you have in your life that you may be struggling to accomplish, it is best to go all in until you've reached your desired outcome.

You can do this with almost any goal you have.

You can do it when choosing goals at work. You can do it with learning a new skill. You can even do it for things like developing better sleep routines.

What is your biggest goal right now?

What does 100% commitment to that goal look like to you? Making a public declaration of that goal will most certainly increase the likelihood of achieving.
