Right about now, your Facebook and Instagram feeds are probably loaded with the obligatory "Back to School" pics. You know that picture every parent takes and uploads to social media on their kid's first day of school.

Well, I am no different, and just because we homeschool doesn't mean I don't partake in this ritual.

A few years ago, when I shared my "Back to School" pic on Facebook, I also shared a very important message about a major change I decided to make in my life. I got such an overwhelming response, I decided to share it again with you today...

This time last year, I finally decided to wave the white flag and surrender to the fact that I needed help.

Several months before, we had hired a tutor to help me with teaching the boys. At first, I was so resistant.

Would she teach them like I do?

Would they get all their work done?

Would they like her more than me? (Seriously, I really thought this.)

And lastly, of course, there was the cost. I kept telling myself I was not being smart with our finances if I paid someone else to do something I could be doing myself.

But here was the problem: I was EXHAUSTED. Not just a little tired from working hard. Not just, "Hey, I could use a day off here." I was flat-out, cranky mommy, I can't do it all, super EXHAUSTED. And I had to admit that although I like to wear Superwoman pajamas to bed (really, I do), I absolutely can't do it all.

My body was also giving me this message by slowly giving me signals like...

"Why am I not recovering well from my workouts?"

"Why am I craving caffeine when I've been without it for so long?"

"Why can I barely stay awake in the car, even when I'm the driver?!"

Unfortunately, I know I'm not the only momma that feels this way. I see so many women tell me they just can't get their health goals in place because their bodies are so exhausted, and they just don't know what to do.

If this is the case for you, I want you to stop, take a deep breath, and read my simple strategies below.

First - Buy Superwoman pajamas. I'm kidding! But in all seriousness, it's ok to admit we just can't do it all. It has taken me 9 years of being a mother to realize that I can only accomplish so much in one day, and I make it a point to not overschedule myself. Yes, I wish I would have started this sooner, but I am finally at a point where I am "realistic" about the 24 hours I have in a day.

Second - Create your Fundamentals List. Everyone has some basic fundamentals they have to cover each day so they can function well and feel like a happy person. Here are mine:

Pray and complete my daily Bible reading. Right now, I'm reading through the New Testament and I love it. There's nothing more encouraging for me than to read how Jesus lived His life and how I can model His actions.

Set up my healthy meals for the day. This has become a routine for me and the kids. It literally takes us all of 10 minutes to grab stuff out of the fridge and ensure we have our healthy meals for the day. Yes, some meal prep is required here, but that is why we give you so many recipes and meal plans as part of your New Life Promise and LiveSmart programs.

Exercise or stretch. Right now, I'm exercising about 3-4 times per week and stretching on the other days. Since I'm not competing in any Olympic games any time soon, that's more than enough for me.

Talk to my sister. This, right here, is a must. I can guarantee that just 5 minutes on FaceTime with my sister will infuse a huge dose of laughter that will set me smiling for the rest of the day. If I don't get to talk to her, she will at least send me some kind of funny text that always brings me to tears... like this one...

LOL!

So today I want you to do just two things.

First, admit to yourself, and to the world, that you are awesome but you do not intend to do everything by yourself. Inform your spouse, your parents, your kids, and your co-workers, and let them know, "Hey guys, I could use some help here."

Next, create your daily fundamentals list. It could look like mine or be completely different. The most important thing is that it makes you smile and helps you feel like a happy person each day.

Well, fast forward a few months and how are my kids doing with their tutor? They absolutely love her!

They look forward to her coming and they get all their work done happily, but yes, they still love me more... LOL. As for the finances, my husband and I have had to adjust accordingly and sacrifice a few extras each month, but I can definitely say it's been worth it for me to feel like a normal human again.
